A compact escape built entirely around one unforgettable gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
The 3-Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari is a focused, time-efficient journey into the forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to roughly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. It's built for travelers who want the gorilla trekking experience without committing to a longer safari.
Every trek is guided by experienced park rangers and trackers, and can be tailored to your travel dates and preferred accommodation category. Talk to us about combining this trek with other Uganda destinations if you have more time to spare.
Depart Kampala and travel south-west toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes you through Uganda's changing landscapes, from rolling hills to terraced farmland, before arriving at the edge of one of Africa's oldest rainforests. Settle into your accommodation and rest ahead of the following day's trek.
An early start for the main event. After a briefing at the park headquarters, you'll be assigned a habituated gorilla family and set off into the forest with experienced trackers and rangers. Trek times vary depending on where the gorillas are that day, and the reward is a rare hour spent in close company with a wild mountain gorilla family.
An optional morning nature walk or birding session in Bwindi's forest, home to over 350 recorded bird species. Afterward, begin the return drive to Kampala, or connect directly to Entebbe Airport depending on your onward travel plans.
Exact inclusions, accommodation options and pricing are confirmed with you directly once we understand your travel dates and preferences.
